This Is How I Used Conservative Political T-Shirts To Get Organized

By Larson Thatcher

Despite what many people in my personal life think about me, I am most definitely not a confrontational person. People see me that way, because I'm consistently getting into some confrontations! I don't start these, but liberals see my conservative political t-shirts or they eavesdrop on something I say, and they feel they have the authority to interject themselves in my night to begin and argument with me. I am not confrontational by nature, but I am pretty stubborn in my beliefs and typically refuse to back down. The strain of fighting with random people got to me and I decided it was time for a little rest and relaxation with people I actually liked.

The vacation I had in mind was going to be a party. Unlike normal parties where friends of friends saw my conservative political t-shirts and decide to rip into me, this party would be different. No liberals allowed. The way I would do this is by making invitations that said that you couldn't come to the party unless you were wearing a conservative shirt. Unlike liberals who only support their beliefs at the voting booth, conservatives actually spend money to back up their cause. They donate to political parties, attend rallies, and most definitely wear political shirts.

I posted the invitations all over the hot spots in town that get a lot of foot traffic. I also made a post on several political forums on the Internet and on Craigslist.com to get as many new faces there as I could. When the day came, I started getting nervous. I half expected a small army of left-wingers to come storming the gates and trash everyone they saw in conservative political t-shirts.

All of my anxiety was completely unwarranted, of course. No one showed up to cause any trouble or start a debate. Perhaps liberals have some common sense after all. All that happened was that scores of people in conservative political t-shirts showed up to have a great time and to share their views on the current political environment. We drank, we conversed, and there were absolutely no heated debates. It was a great vacation.

That party was a giant success. Not only did I network with the area's most vehement supporters for right-wing issues, but I also made several close friends that I have kept to this very day. We make the conservative political t-shirts party and annual thing now, and we have actually had people fly in from out-of-state to attend. We rent a local VFW these days, hire catering, and get a band to play. Sometimes great things start out as tiny ideas. I like to think that my little party has created an awesome local political force for good.
