Wedding Hair Day tips

By Dominic Shaw

Your wedding day is the one day that you really do have a good reason to look as good as you possibly can. It's the one day you want to get right. It's the one day that you will remember for a long time and you want to feel good about the way you looked. So many people spend a lot of time money and effort on the dress, and the shoes (which no one ever sees) and several other accessories. More often than not, the hair is a little bit of an afterthought, or something that does not get much attention till the very end.

Many brides have made the mistake of getting a friend to do their hair, AND the hair of their bridesmaids. This has resulted in many brides getting a five minute quick up do at the end as time has run out. Don't let this happen to you! If you are having a friend who you trust do your hair, make sure she is either doing just your hair, or that she is going to prioritize your hair.

A lot of Brides like the idea of a hairdresser coming to their home or wherever they are getting ready. This can be fun and part of making you feel like a princess on the day. However a lot of times the home environment can be a bit chaotic and it may be nice to slip off to a salon with just a close friend or two while you get treated. Keeping it local is important as you do not want to get stuck in traffic and add any stress to the day. Even if you live in a big city like London and are spoil for choice with all the hairdressers in London to choose from, try and keep it near to where you are.

Ask your hairdresser if she has portfolio of wedding hair she has done. This will help give you ideas if you are stuck and will also fill you with confidence knowing she has experience. Many hair salons will offer a trial which is important for getting it right.

Some hair salons offer full wedding services so that you get your make-up and hair done together. This can save time and money, but again, make sure that it's going to be what you want and a quality job. Remember to wear a button down top as well that you won't have to pull over your head! Take someone with you as well, who knows what you want. It can be quite intimidating it's just you and the hairdresser. Having a close friend with you who is interested and into style and hair do's can help.
