Velcro Rollers can increase the volume and body to your hair or give you tight curls. If you want a looser wavy appearance, so that you can add body to your hair, you want to invest in larger Velcro rollers. On the other hand, if you want to be able to have tight ringlet curls, use smaller velcro rollers. I have determined that the variety packs typically work the best simply because you have different sizes for many kinds of hairstyles. I normally use large ones for the wavy look but sometimes I really want to try real curls so owning the variety pack is nice.
Here are five steps for using Velcro Rollers:
Step 1: First, you need to wash your hair and then ring out your hair so that all the excess water is gone. After, you have rung out your hair, you will need to use a towel to dry it for 2 to 3 minutes. You only want you hair to be damp, not soaking wet. Before you can take the velcro rollers out, you hair has to be entirely dry. If your hair takes a really long time to dry, you will want to towel dry it longer.
Step 2:
Comb your hair to get rid of any tangles or clumps. Then, I add an anti frizz serum because my hair frizzes up easily. The decision to use the anti frizz serum is all yours, but I think it helps with flyaway hair.
Step 3:
Grab a section of your hair that is not any larger than the velcro roller. Place the velcro roller at the bottom of the hair and roll it upwards. Keep rolling it until it is securely against your scalp. There is no need to use any clips, the rollers will remain in place without them.
Step Four:
Now, follow the instructions for step three with the rest of your hair. Remember to use small sections of your hair as it is a lot harder to get the rollers to stay when your hair is damp.
Fifth Step:
Wait until all of your hair is dry. This takes me 1-2 hours. When you are in a hurry, you should blowdry them to increase the speed of the process. Once your hair is dry, hairspray your hair while the rollers are still in. After hair spraying, go ahead and take the Velcro rollers out. Take away the rollers gently as pulling them will take out the hair. Once all the rollers are out, make use of your fingers to comb and style you hair. But you should not use a brush, doing so will break up the curls.
